A new addition to our Coastal Dental Care Redland Bay practice is Dr Keishi Barnes. We are very excited to welcome Dr Barnes and his dental expertise to the team!

Our practice has been helping the Redland Bay community with their oral health for over 30 years. For this reason, we are delighted to support our area even further with the skills of Dr Keishi Barnes.

Education

Interestingly, Keishi began his studies in Mathematics before settling on a career in dentistry. He was given the opportunity to study math at the University of Queensland. After quickly realising it was not meant to be, he then decided to pursue a career in dentistry.

Continuing his education at the University of Queensland, Dr Keishi Barnes started his dental degree. Here, Keishi excelled in his studies and completed his bachelor’s degree with Honours.

Before joining our Redland Bay team, Keishi gained clinical experience rurally in St George and Dalby. In these small country towns, Dr Barnes gained insight and perspective by working as a health practitioner in smaller localities. Meeting his patients in the supermarket after work further reinforced his understanding and appreciation for the importance of community engagement.

What’s more, Keishi is a strong believer in lifelong learning and strives to attend regular courses and lectures on dentistry. He is also a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) which promotes the importance of dental care.

About Dr Keishi Barnes

Dr Keishi has a fondness for preventative dentistry as it can help patients keep their smiles for life. As well, it can prevent more costly restorative treatments in the future.

As well, Dr Keishi is passionate about raising good oral health awareness in the community. Previously, he has volunteered in Oral Health events focused on improving the health of refugees.

When it comes to his patients, Dr Barnes understands a dental visit can be a less than a pleasant experience for some. To combat this, Keishi aims to give his patients the most enjoyable and stress-free experience he can. Dr Keishi is looking forward to meeting and serving the Redland Bay community.

Personal Hobbies

Outside of work Keishi enjoys spending time with family and friends, and leading an active lifestyle.

In particular, you can find Keishi ‘creating’ dishes in the kitchen and experimenting with flavours. If you are a music fan, talk to Dr Keishi about his passion for playing and listening to music.
