Sean Dawes

Sean graduated from Griffith University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Oral Health Therapy. In 2017 he completed the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Clinical Practice (Adult Scope) at the University of Melbourne.

Sean worked in private practice in Cairns between 2010-2014. Then in remote government clinics in Cape York and the Torres Strait from 2014-2018 where he managed and serviced the school dental service. He completed remote contracts between Darwin and Arnhem Land, NT in between travelling around Australia. Sean returned to private practice in Cairns 2019-21.

Sean enjoys working in dentistry because of the places he has travelled to and the people he has met. Sean has a unique way of approaching people that often sees the most apprehensive or anxious patients leaving with a fresh outlook on not only their dental health but their dental experience as well.

The excitement of travelling has allowed Sean to work in a vast amount of areas with many people from various cultural backgrounds, both patients and operators, also having the chance to work alongside and learn from some exceptional operators and specialists.

Born and raised on the Gold Coast. Left in 2009. returned in 2022. The core of Sean’s hobbies involves being outdoors, and the more remote the location the better so naturally anything to do with boating, 4WD driving and camping, you can count him in! He is an avid fisherman, however, Sean has turned into more of an adventurer he loves seeing new areas and island hopping. Sean has a small family and enjoys taking his son on adventures and showing him all the things nature has to offer from bush walks and birdwatching to boating and fishing.
