Dr Karlie Mead is originally from Maidenwell, a small rural town in south-east Queensland. Dr Karlie Mead grew up valuing the strong community connections and personal relationships that come with country life. These values continue to shape her warm, approachable manner and her commitment to getting to know each patient. Karlie completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at QUT in Brisbane before going on to complete her Master of Dentistry at Griffith University in 2024. After spending the past two years caring for patients in Tugun on the southern Gold Coast, she is pleased to join the team at Coastal Dental Care Cabarita Beach.

Karlie enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with particular interests in restorative dentistry, crowns, periodontal care and root canal treatment. She also has an interest in clear aligner treatment and has undertaken further education in this area to expand her knowledge and the treatment options she can discuss with patients.

Karlie values building lasting relationships with her patients and helping them feel comfortable attending dental appointments. She aims to create a welcoming, judgement-free environment where patients feel heard and can ask questions openly. Whether providing preventive dental care or discussing more involved treatment options, Karlie takes a thoughtful, individual approach, considering each patient’s needs, priorities and long-term oral health.

Outside of dentistry, Karlie enjoys making the most of coastal life, spending time at the beach, exploring nature walks and discovering good food with her partner and friends. She is also an enthusiastic reader, enjoys playing chess and is always keen to try something new, from a pottery class to a weekend camping trip.
