Dr James Anderson

With 35 years of Dental experience, James is a passionate and caring Dentist interested in creating a positive experience for his patients whilst delivering comfortable and quality general dentistry care.

James was born in Central Africa and brought up mainly in Rhodesia before attending boarding school and University in South Africa. In 1982 James emigrated with his family to New Zealand and completed his postgraduate studies in Virology before entering dental school at the University of Otago. He was awarded a Medical Research Council summer studentship in 1985 and the University of Otago Award in Dentistry in 1986 before graduating in 1987 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Credit. He completed 2 years in the Auckland Hospital System as a Dental House Surgeon and Registrar before commencing in Private Practice. In 1995 James emigrated to Western Australia and opened his own busy group private practice in Perth in 1998.

In addition to a busy practice, James spent two years as a part-time clinical tutor teaching in undergraduate clinics at the University of Western Australia School of Dentistry.

In 2008 James fulfilled a lifelong dream and purchased an old Dairy farm in Margaret River. This kept him busy on the weekends and allowed him to pursue an interest in land rehabilitation and conservation creating a practical farming space whilst creating wildlife and bird habitat and biodiversity tree planting.

James moved to Sydney in 2021 working in private practice and relocated to The Gold Coast in mid-2023.

James has two teenage daughters, and in his spare time, his hobbies include gardening and reading whilst snow skiing, dog walking, scuba diving and cycling keep him active.
