Superhero Smiles for Children: Coastal Dental Care Supporting Super Max & Bryce
Throughout August, Coastal Dental Care is helping to create superhero smiles for children by donating $1 for every patient seen across our 11 practices to the local non-profit charity, Super Max & Bryce. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to support young children undergoing cancer treatment, and we invite your help in making these smiles a reality.
Why we are donating $1 for every patient we see?
At Coastal Dental Care, we know how important family is and cherish the long-lasting relationships we build with our patients. As a local family dentist, we are actively seeking ways to give back to the community. Our dentists and staff are proud to help create superhero smiles for children who need comfort during cancer treatment.
About Super Max & Bryce
The Super Max & Bryce charity was founded in 2016 by Bryce, who was nine years old at the time. After witnessing his mother and family friend Max undergo cancer treatments, Bryce wanted to help other children facing similar struggles. He began raising funds to provide “Super Max the Turtle” night lights, designed by children’s oncologists to be fully sanitized for hospital use.
In his own way, Bryce wanted to bring comfort to these incredibly brave children. Because of this, he began his journey to raise funds to purchase turtle shaped night lights called “Super Max the Turtle”. These little turtle night lights are special because they were designed with the help of children’s oncologists so they can be fully sanitized. Meaning, children in treatment can take them wherever they go. Whether they are at home or in the strictest of hospital environments like ICU and isolation wards.
Bryce’s positive impact
With support from his school, family, and community, Bryce initially purchased 244 night lights for children with cancer. His goal has since expanded to provide a Super Max the Turtle Night Light for every child diagnosed with cancer in Australia and New Zealand each year—bringing comfort and creating countless superhero smiles for children across the region.
By the end of 2021, Bryce will have gifted 5,000 children in treatment with a special Super Max the Turtle. Bryce wants to share love, hope, happiness and comfort with children who have cancer. He wants to achieve this not just through his gifts but knowing that they all sleep under the same stars at night so they never feel alone. It is now in our hands to support Bryce and his goal to raise enough funds to buy 1,000 turtle night lights this year. Working together with you, we know we can achieve this.
How can you help?
Our Coastal Dental Care Network is proud to support Bryce in his pursuit to fulfill his goal. We aim to raise $10,000 during the month of August which will help to purchase approximately 400 turtle night lights for children in treatment.
To help us reach our goal, we are conducting additional fundraising activities within our practices which include:
Direct donations within practices
Throughout August we will have donation boxes within each of our Coastal Dental Care practices located at our reception desks. These donation boxes will also have their own QR code which you can scan to go directly to the Super Max & Bryce donation page for additional online contributions. This way, if you do not have any spare change, you can donate online.
Raffles
We will also hold raffles within our Burleigh Waters, Kingscliff, and Robina Town practices where you can purchase tickets and go into the draw to win a massive hamper. These unique hampers are filled with gorgeous items from another local company called Annabel Trends that supports Super Max & Bryce.
A winner for each of the practices participating in the raffles will be randomly selected at the end of the month. The winner will be contacted and announced on our social media.
