Dr Lillian Cox grew up on the Gold Coast before moving to Orange to complete her bachelor of dental science at Charles Sturt University. While living rurally, Lillian formed many new friendships and met her partner in Bathurst. After completing her degree, Lillian and her partner decided to move back to the Gold Coast and work at Coastal Dental Care, where she received her own orthodontic treatment.
During her time with Charles Sturt University, Lillian spent time in many rural clinics, including Orange, Bathurst, Wagga Wagga and Brewarri, NA, and a placement in the thHawkesburyry health district in Sydney. Lillian spent her entire 5th year on placement focusing on rural communities, with most of her time spent in Wagga Wagga and two weeks spent in the remote community of Brewarrina. As there are no other dental clinics in Brewarrina, Lillian saw many patients who often required extensive and complex treatment. Through this time working in rural communities, Lillian has strived to be a positive and gentle change for nervous patients with previously poor dental experiences.
Lillian’s interest in dentistry first began when her mother, Dr Julie Cox (who also works at Kingscliff), began studying dentistry when Lillian was 9 years old. Although Lillian enjoys all aspects of dentistry, she is particularly interested in restorative dentistry and is excited to continue her endodontic education after receiving an award for the best pre-clinical performance in endodontics this year.
Outside of dentistry, Lillian enjoys painting and taking time out of her day to go to the beach with a good book in hand.
