The Premier Invitational is a well-established soccer tournament organised by Magic United and the Total Football Academy. The 7-day annual competition took place for the 7th time in 2018 and saw more than 100 teams with close to 2,000 players competing for the Premier Invitational title.
Coastal Dental Care is a platinum sponsor of Magic United and supports the Premier Invitational tournament every year.
Andrew Robinson, Media Coordinator of the tournament, said, “This was the biggest Premier Invitational tournament thus far and it will be bigger again next year.
“We had around 10,000 people attend from the Gold Coast, Queensland, interstate and even had 3 international teams competing.
“Next year we are hoping [the] support from Events Queensland, Gold Coast Tourism, City of Gold Coast Council and Football Queensland will make the event one of the biggest events in Australia’s footballing calendar.”
The newest feature at the tournament this year was the Premier Invitational TV – a big screen located next to the fields that showed highlights from past matches, player and coaches interviews, as well as tournament news.
One of the highlights for the players and spectators was the appearance of the Coastal Dental Care team on one of the tournament days. They gave out dental gift bags to everyone who stopped by for a chat.
The team also helped by giving tooth brushing advice and ideas for little games and competitions to parents who were concerned about the oral health habits of their children.
Coastal Dental Care CEO Dr Franck Page said, “It was a great event which saw so many young talents enjoying their games and it is great that our company can be part of the support network. We loved to see how people engaged with our team and that everyone had such a good time at the Premier Invitational.”
Dr Franck Page attended the Premier Invitational Night where coaches, parents and tournament organisers spent a few hours discussing the football development on the Gold Coast. Dr Page explained how players will benefit of the merge of the two clubs Magic United and Gold Coast Knights and discussed the various new player pathways.
The tournament Competition Manager Dean Gregory hopes to make the Premier Invitational the biggest Junior Tournament in Australia.
He said, “We hope to start bringing in some of the strongest teams from Asia. With the right promotion overseas, the destination of the Gold Coast will be a major draw card if we can get further support.
“The tournament is designed with a focus on development with every team having the same amount of games.“
Coastal Dental Care would also like to congratulate all the winners of the tournament.
